So you hired a marketing agency, SEO writer, your brother-in-law, or some high school kid to handle your blog and social media. Tell me how that has working out for you? Are you seeing the results you’d expected to see? Here are a couple of ways to know if your current construction marketing strategy is working for you.
Google your keywords. Don’t Google your company name, that’s an easy one to rank for; Google your keywords. Does your website or blog appear in the first page or two of results? If so, good for you! If not, maybe you are trying to rank for the wrong words. Using long-tail keywords are easier to rank for and get you closer to a buyer.
Check your phone and your schedule. Is the phone ringing? Is your schedule full? A full schedule and a busy phone mean that your business is booming, so you’ve got to be doing something right. A sparse schedule and crickets chirping mean you’re not nearly busy enough. I want to help you stay so busy that you need to hire help. Call me and we’ll see if we can create some jobs.
Your website should act as a conduit for customers. It should be properly optimized to land your name on the first page of results when people search for your keywords. You have your contact information on your website for a reason – for people to contact you when they need to build or remodel something. It isn’t there for decoration. But if your website isn’t converting or even appearing, it may be time to make some changes to your web strategy.
Your blog should act like a funnel that leads to your website to ultimately turn readers into customers. Each blog post should educate, entertain, and engage your reader. Is your content compelling your readers to call you for an appointment? Does your blog content preach at the reader or teach them something valuable?
Here’s what it boils down to.
You don’t need a guru… you need a construction marketing consultant. A marketing guru will tell you what they think you should do then leave you to your own devices to make that happen. A marketing agency will probably tell you what you need to do and sell you all of the tools you need to make it happen. It’s unlikely that they will take the time to walk you through the processes required to actually get the job done, then you decide if you want to do it yourself or have someone do it for you.
There’s a big difference between handing your marketing needs to an agency or some “guru” or “ninja,” and entrusting it to a consultant who has your best interest in mind.
My construction marketing services are different from your average marketing agency because we focus on one single niche, not hundreds. I know about marketing for construction companies. I’ve done that one job for more than 20 years both offline and online. I don’t know about marketing for a local garage or a hair salon. That’s why my clients appreciate the specialized treatment they receive.
You need a variety of tools and construction marketing services to help you improve your marketing strategy. I have a team comprised of a website designer, a team of writers, a graphic designer, a marketing manager, and a print and logo designer. I feel like we have a lot to offer everyone who chooses to work with us. We have the ability to work with you to create an entirely new website and even rebrand your construction business with a new logo if you’re ready for a new look.
Call me and we’ll work out the details surrounding your construction marketing plan. I’ll evaluate your existing website, blog, and marketing strategy to see where we can make improvements. Let’s get this show on the road ASAP so you can ring in the New Year with confidence and build a new construction marketing plan for 2017.
